Substitute for Expensive Aged Balsamic Vinegar

- 1⁄3 cup balsamic vinegar (an inexpensive supermarket brand)
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 tablespoon port wine
directions
- Combine in a small pot. Simmer gently for 30 minutes, until reduced by half. Cool to room temperature before using.
